These terms apply when you download Hearsay, use it or buy Hearsay Pro. Hearsay is developed and sold by Individual Entrepreneur Nikita Potrimailo (“we”, “us”). By using the app or paying for a subscription, you accept these terms.
- Hearsay is sold by Individual Entrepreneur Nikita Potrimailo, Kyrgyz Republic.
- Website orders are handled by our reseller Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record for all our orders.
- Hearsay Pro costs $12.99 per month on the website. The subscription renews monthly until you cancel it.
- You can get a full refund for a website purchase within 14 days of payment, no questions asked.
- Your recordings and transcripts belong to you and stay on your Mac.
1. Who we are
Hearsay is developed and sold by Individual Entrepreneur Nikita Potrimailo, registration number 004-2026-169-3415, Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. Your contract under these terms is with us. You can reach us at support@gethearsay.app.
2. What Hearsay is
Hearsay is a macOS app. It records your microphone and audio from other apps, transcribes speech on your Mac and separates speakers. Hearsay Pro adds summaries and assistant answers based on the transcript text, Markdown export and transcripts with no length limit.
You can get Hearsay in two ways: download it from gethearsay.app or from the Mac App Store. The free version works without a subscription and shows the first 30 minutes of each recording’s transcript.
3. Website purchases and Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Website purchases are also subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Paddle takes the payment, calculates taxes and emails you a receipt. Only Paddle receives your card details; we never see them.
Paddle doesn’t accept payments from some countries. There, you can get Hearsay Pro on the Mac App Store.
4. Hearsay Pro subscription on the website
- Price: $12.99 per month. The total, including your country’s taxes, is shown on the checkout page before you pay.
- No free trial. You can try Hearsay with the free version.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically every month. Paddle charges the payment method you used.
- Cancellation: any time, using the link in your email from Paddle, at paddle.net or by writing to support@gethearsay.app. Pro keeps working until the end of the paid month, and you won’t be charged again.
- Price changes: we’ll email you about a new price in advance. It applies from the first billing period after the notice, and you can cancel before then.
- Where it works: Pro bought on the website works in the version of Hearsay downloaded from gethearsay.app.
5. App Store purchases
If you subscribed to Pro on the Mac App Store, Apple handles payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds under its own rules. The App Store version is also covered by Apple’s Standard License Agreement. These terms apply to the extent they don’t conflict with it.
6. Refunds
You can get a full refund for a website purchase within 14 days of payment, no questions asked. See the refund policy for how to request one.
7. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Hearsay on your Macs for personal and work purposes. You may not:
- sell, rent out or redistribute Hearsay;
- bypass the free version’s limits or the subscription check;
- decompile or modify the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use Hearsay or our server api.gethearsay.app:
- for unlawful purposes, fraud or spam;
- to record people without their consent where the law requires it. Let participants know before you record a meeting or a call;
- to infringe copyright or other rights, for example by distributing other people’s recordings without permission;
- to interfere with the service: spreading malware, probing or overloading the server, scraping, or bypassing security measures and limits.
9. Summaries and the assistant
- Summaries and assistant answers are generated by an OpenAI model from the transcript text. They can be inaccurate or incomplete. Check anything important against the transcript and timestamps.
- Assistant answers are not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. Don’t make important decisions based on them alone.
- You’re responsible for what you record and send to the assistant, and for how you use the output. You must have the rights to that material.
- We may limit or turn off online features in case of abuse, such as automated requests or attempts to bypass limits.
10. Your recordings
Recordings, transcripts and summaries belong to you or to the owners of the recorded material. They’re stored on your Mac, and we get no rights to them. We process transcript text only to return a summary or an answer. See the privacy policy for details.
If you believe Hearsay is being used to infringe your rights, write to support@gethearsay.app and describe the situation. We’ll review your request. We cut off online features for repeat infringers.
11. Our intellectual property
Hearsay, its code, design, name and logo, and the gethearsay.app website belong to us. These terms don’t give you any rights to them beyond the license in section 7.
12. No warranty
We don’t promise that Hearsay will work without interruptions or errors. Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality, language and the selected model. The app is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows.
Recordings are stored only on your Mac, and we can’t recover a deleted recording. Keep copies of important recordings.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or data loss. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Hearsay in the last 12 months. This doesn’t limit consumer rights that can’t be limited under the law of your country.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access to Pro and online features for a material breach of these terms, non-payment, fraud risk or a security threat, or for repeated serious violations. If we end access for a reason other than your breach, we’ll refund the unused part of the paid period.
You can stop using Hearsay at any time: cancel your subscription and delete the app.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version will appear on this page with a new date. We’ll email website subscribers in advance about material changes. If you keep using Hearsay after the changes, you accept the new terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic. If you’re a consumer, you keep the rights given to you by the law of the country where you live.
